Break up to makeup is for children. Playing with someone's emotions because you don't have yourself together is something found common in grade school not when you are older and should have matured. If there is a problem in your life whether with your job, relationship, friendship, or tasks to complete you don't just quit when the going gets rough. My boss looked at me wrong and promoted 'so-and-so' over me so I QUIT. Me and my significant other got into a fight and he hurt me feelings so ITS OVER. My close friend said something I don't agree with and they are out to get me like everyone else so I CUT THEM OFF. The reason why I say these actions are child's play because as a child you are unaware of the concepts of reasoning, discussing your feelings, working past disagreements, and forgiving and forgetting.

At work you don't quit a job just because something does not go your way. Especially is this job is your only means of finances and you can't afford to quit. Search for a job and have one already in hand before sending in your two weeks to management. Make a list of pros and cons for remaining with that company before making your final decision.

In relationships always remember that one argument does not mean it's over. You will fight, disagree, hate each other, want to smack them, and all of the above. Nothing is perfect and don't expect it to be. Love is not meant to be easy because if it was everyone would be in relationships. Love is hard and it takes time. You have to communicate and talk about your issues. What is making you sad, what you don't like, what needs to change. How will that person know what is bothering you and what is effecting your relationship if you do not discuss these things with them.

In friendships you have different levels of people in your life. BFFs, Friends, Frienemies, associates, and people you just smile and say hello to when you see them. You have to seperate people into these categories in order to know what to expect from certain people. You can't expect your frienemie to be over heels happy for you when you tell them your boyfriend/girlfriend is amazing and you are so in love. You can't expect an associate to care about your problems and give advice. You can expect you BFF to be there for you when you need them through good times and bad. Good times when you love this person and consider them family. Bad times when you don't even know why you associate yourself with that person.

By all means if a certain person in your life is not adding anything but drama and uneeded stress then you need to cut them off. Never settle for anything and this is for jobs, friendships, and relationships. You deserve someone in your life that will make you happy and is worth your time. But realize who is worth keeping around and who isn't. Don't think the world is out to get it. It's possible for someone to actually care about you and as an adult you should realize that. Leave child's play for the children and grow up.

Updates are slow. I've been planning and budgeting for everything I need this September when I move into my apartment. I'm really excited and happy right now. On September 2, 2009 my boyfriend and I will celebrate our 2 year anniversary. I am so happy and blessed to have a man like him in my life. My parents are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on August 25th. Love is beautiful and life is good.

Fabulous Hair Journey

I'm not sure if I'm going to blog on here about my hair journey or not. Matter of fact I'm won't but I just wanted to get things down before joining the various hair care communities and forums online. I'm a Black woman with natural hair and I am partaking along with many Black women in healthy hair care. The major misconception is that Black women cannot "grow" hair. There is no such thing as growing hair. All women of all races grow 0.5 inches per month which equals 6 inches a year. The main problem is the amount of grease, lack of washing, and heat used for many Black women. Petroleum and Mineral Oil are terrible for our hair. We need moisturizers not oils, water, alcohol, and petroleum. The amount of heat should not be used and the type of relaxers. They have women whose hair is down to their waist, bra stap, and arm pit lengths. Beautiful and healthy hair is attainable with a change of lifestyle and a few steps.

People are already saying I am crazy for planning to wash my hair every week and conditioning wash twice a week but this will work when I have flowing healthy hair down my back they can shut their faces.

Happy Independence Day

It doesn't matter whether you were born here in America, immigrated, or still bitter because the actual date that we celebrate Independence Day Black slaves were not free. Either way you are still an citizen (I would hope) of the United States of America and everyday you have freedom you should count your blessings and always give support to the troops. People do not have the same liberties and freedom in other countries. So, in my family we celebrate and go big for the Fourth of July. Despite my endless disagreements with the government and how it conducted itself in the past and currently I am proud to be free.

I think fireworks are so romantic. Mike (My boyfriend) came over to my house today for my family's annual cookout and Fourth of July celebration. Me and my Dad travel to Canton, Ohio every year to Phantom Fireworks to put on a show! It's so much fun and we lit up the entire neighborhood. Who needs to work through busy crowds and traffic when you have the best show right in your backyard. Granted its costly but completely worth it. I was bitter and upset about the holidays earlier but I got over it. I have no idea why it's easier to blog on here instead of updating my private livejournal.

I love this song by Mariah Carey and I listen to it year round and not just around the fourth of July. It's so beautiful and its Mariah so it's fabulous from her Butterfly album. It's actually one of my top two Mariah Carey songs of all time.

BET Awards Review

Let me start by stating the highlights of the night. Ne-Yo's performance was beautiful and very respectful in tribute to Michael Jackson. I enjoyed Beyonce's performance and I thought it was very appropriate for the passing of Michael Jackson. I was disappointed in the feedback and reaction from various people on twitter who felt that Beyonce's performance was horrible because she was actually singing instead of shaking her ass and dancing but I will elaborate on that later. The OJays took me away when they still had their dance moves and performed some of their hit songs. Tyrese, Johnny Gill, and Trey Songs performed Stairway to Heaven it was very nice. Maxwell was a little pitchy but his overall performance was amazing. Ciara did a decent job considering she can't really hold a note, she looked really good.

The problem with BET is that they are not owned by Black people. BET was bought by Viacom in 2005 which owns all three music television stations. There is no coincidence that the station which caters to mostly Black people received the lowest production and quality when it comes to programming and in this case award shows. The people at Viacom do not have our best interest in mind and they only care about making a profit. Debra Lee should put her footdown and not accept some of the coonery that goes on over at BET but money talks. The sound was terrible throughout the night but when you tune into the MTV Video Awards it was not a problem. Black people used to look out for each other in the past or "back in the day". In the early 50's, 60's, and 70's Black businesses flourished and the quality of parenting was so much better back then. My parents are old school and they both at 55 years of age. I was raised by parents who were married (25 years this August) and they instilled values within me of respect, love, and how to carry myself as a classy woman. The problem with the Black community starts in the home. BET promotes lifestyles of the opposite and exposes our Black men and women to negative images and portrayal of life in general. We used to have entertainment that cared about promoting positive images and the advancement of the Black community and youth in general.

The worst performance of the night was done by none other than Little Weezy F. Baby, Young Money, Lil' Influenza. I was disgusted at how three girls no older than 16 were on stage dresses like hookers, shaking and dancing to Every Girl. Which is a song discussing how he wants to "FUCK" every girl in the world. His daughter was in the audience and I'm not sure if that was actually her on stage. Children should not be exposed and listening to that type of music. I wasn't allowed when I was in middle school to listen to vulgar music whether rock, hip-hop, or whatever. All I heard on my end was a large bleep throughout the entire song, what is the point! The skit from Baby Boy with the actor who played the boyfriend of Jody's mother looked drunk and/or high and he conducted himself as such. It was a very awkward moment when he openly cussed at the BET awards and left the audience questioning what was actually going on.

The bad part is that in the recent passing of Michael Jackson I was expecting a decent tribute to Michael Jackson and they failed. I understand it was last minute but I would have rather then push back the date of the award show so that they can give Michael the appropriate tribute. Chris Brown would have been perfect but they stopped him from performing because of his incident with Rihanna in his personal life. I don't agree with domestic violence not one bit but to stop him from performing because of one incident is ridiculous. But we allow convicted murders and drug dealers to perform on the same stage? I don't understand. We allow little girls to dance and dress inappropriately who are under 18 is OK. Music is DEAD! We have so manyfew artist who are actually musically talented its sad. People don't appreciate music nor talent anymore all they want to hear in the Boom Boom Pow (nothing against Black Eye Peas) and Autotune nonsense. If anything Michael's passing allowed us 48 hours of straight music. The humanitarian award and speeches by Alicia Keys and Wyclef Jean were touching and one of the highlights of the night. Other than that another epic fail from Black Embarrassing Television.

Words can't begin to describe how I feel. Michael Jackson's death felt as if I lost a member of my own family. No one saw this coming nor expected his life to end so abruptly. But all in all God took him away from the world for a reason and I hope that he finds peace that he struggled to find here in this mad world. It saddens me that the media and society tried so hard to destroy him and now that he is gone they want to praise and deem him an icon once again. Where were his friends of the music industry when he went through the trials, accusations, and really could have used a friend. I remember as a child I watched Moonwalker every single day. Then American Dream: The Jacksons movie became a must watch daily. We all grew up on this wonderful and brilliant musician and all of our lives were impacted by him in some way. Michael Jackson will forever be The King of Pop and the best entertainer of all time. I never believed he committed those crimes. Through psychological evaluations one can conclude that Michael was deprived of a childhood and those child-like tendencies transgressed into his adulthood. His entire life was filled with scandal, tragedy, and stress that no child nor person should have to be accustomed to.

Either way this was not to analyze his life but to celebrate his musical brilliance and creativity. Because of Michael Jackson we have conceptual music videos and music as we know it. Before Michael there was Jackie Wilson and James Brown but ultimately Michael Jackson combined those inspirations, made it his own, and redefined music and what it meant to be an entertainer. There will never be another. He placed Black women and men in a positive light and forced us to recognize racial and world poverty issues through his music.

I wanted to share two of my favorite Michael Jackson songs that were slightly overlooked from his Invincible album, Butterflies and Heaven Can Wait.

My other favorites include: You are not alone, Rock with you, Dirty Diana, Scream, Bad, Billie Jean, Thriller, Remember the time, and Leave me alone.

human nature

I miss having a [dot com] website. I miss coding from scratch. I miss the days before wordpress and blogger. Before "everybody and they mama" could have a blog sites were made with basic html, css, and javascript coding. Web designers were web designers. Blogging is a recent phenomenon and before it was just a personal site. I have a private livejournal account where I discuss my personal life but I miss having a personal website at times. Random and returning visitors giving their insight whether positive or negative on various events in my life was a form of meditation. Writing is therapy for me. I love to put my emotions and thoughts through the keyboard onto a computer screen. I've gotten away from that and I miss it dearly.

It's summertime and my schedule is completely free. I have no summer courses this time, no summer job, no internship, just time. I took 3 classes last summer and I worked winter break. My schedule in the fall and the years to come is going to be intense. I plan to attend summer school in 2010 and 2011 since I changed my major I will more than likely be in school for an extra quarter in '11 which is perfectly fine with me. College is not a race, its a marathon. Engineering really took a toll to my GPA and I am not studying Management Information Systems and Accounting. I did excellent this recent spring quarter with a 3.915 GPA, all A's and 1 A-. I'm using this summer to read for leasure, spend time with my boyfriend of almost 2 years, appreciate my family and friends, go to the museum, workout, and just finally have time to get myself together.

I'm at a good place in life but I will never be satisfied with anything because there is always room for improvement. I am healthy, blessed with a wonderful family and support system, strong relationship with God that continues to grow each day, loving boyfriend who is the love of my life and my soulmate, friends who are true and understand what it means to be a true friend, good grades and success in college, and I'm financially stable. I'm living life in the fab lane in pursuit of happiness through God, Love, and Life. I have so much hope for the future and I'm excited. Thinking back when I was 16 I would have never thought I would be the woman I am today. Confident, Fabulous, In-Love, Successful, and just happy with life. I expected the usual of being in college and having good grade but I would not have expected to be happy with the way I look, feel, and to just know I am fabulous and let it show.

I was very dissapointed in several CAVS fans after game 4 who thought it was over and stopped believing. I have all the faith in my team and I believe we will and can take it all. We have game 6 today in Orlando and its an do or die situation. We need to win this game to force a gamw 7 in Cleveland at the Q against LeBron James. Whenever you have LeBron James or Kobe Bryant on your team you have a chance. All we have to do is win one game at a time and this game tonight is very important. The Magic throughout this entire series hasn't build a lead of more than ten against us on the road or at home. We have lost leads to Orlando by 16, 22, and 23 but we know we can make a run on them. At home during game 4 we should have won that game and it came down to 2 points. We have to get it together, one goal, one game, one team, GO CAVS!! Don't Stop Believing.

I Am Woman: Michelle Williams for NV Business Women's Magazine

Michelle Williams recently did a spread for NV Business Women's Magazine and she looks fabulous. The message for the entire spread was interesting for me because each photo was based around the phrase "I am Woman". It showcased qualities that all women should posses, I am smart, chic, focused, sexy, powerful, and worthy. Not just in the business world but in life. When you love yourself and feel confident everyone notices and it improves your appearance. I'll use a quote from Alicia Keys she made a few years back that always stuck with me.

The Shot that Saved our Season: Don't Stop Believing!

The Cleveland Cavaliers faced the Orlando Magic friday night down 0-1 in the Eastern Conference finals. The CAVS, fans, and LeBron James knew this game was a must win for the team. We started the first half great and off to a good start with a 23 point lead. Once again we allowed the Magic back into the game thanks to 3-pointers and lack of transition defense on our part. We shouldn't have won this game similar to the first game off of bench points alone. We had 14 points from the bench and they had close to 29. Orlando is treacherous from the 3-point mark and we have to force them to shoot 2's. I can live with 2 points not the 3 to get them into the game. We did a good job stopping Dwight Howard but overall we have to keep our composure and try to take a win in Orlando going into a very hostile environment. Mo Williams we need you more, Z keep it up, Delonte we need you to score more, Boobie get your head into the game, Wally's World!!!

THIS IS WHY YOU CANNOT PUT ANYTHING PAST KOBE OR KING JAMES! Beyonce's video for her new single "Ego" debuted yesterday. I like the simplicity of it again and the timing of this video is perfect. Hopefully the single will do well, Halo is currently the #7 song in the country on Hot 100. I think she is wearing butt pads but I think they are appropriate so she won't jiggle and shake all over. Either way Beyonce is fabulous and you have to love this line

Goodbye The Game

I am livid after hearing The CW's The Game show has been cancelled. After all the phone calls, message board postings, and tweeting they cut us off. Hopefully the BET network will pick the show up for a 4th season. The show was created by Kelsey Grammer and Mara Brock Akil the creators of the hit television show Girlfriends. I was crushed when Girlfriends were cancelled but honestly the show wasn't the same after Toni Childs left. But for The CW to cancel The Game is just a mess, they have higher ratings than 90210 and Gossip Girl but the one Black show left on air other than Tyler Perry's mess has to go.

Let's Get it together CAVS

On Wednesday night the CAVS lost the first game of the ECF to the Magic by one point. We held the lead the majority of the game and we just stopped making our shots. I don't care who are you, when your team isn't shooting you are't going to win.

This lost might be the best thing for the CAVS. We needed to humble ourselves and realize that LeBron cannot win this all by himself. We are ONE team with ONE goal. The fact we were playing terrible and Orlando played the best they can and only beat us by 1 point says a lot. GO CAVS! It's not the end of the world, just the beginning of a good series.

People can say what they want but this is the best thing to happen to the CAVS and the worst to Orlando. I have faith in my team and I feel we are going to pull this series out. We took one lost and we need to come back Friday night and take a win.

New couple: Keyshia Cole and Daniel "Boobie" Gibson

Keyshia Cole and Daniel "Boobie" Gibson of the Cleveland Cavaliers are rumored and somewhat confirmed to be an item, couple, or just dating. Keyshia looks happy and they seem to make a cute couple. I think that the timing of Boobie pursuing a R&B singer is off considering that the CAVS are in the Eastern Conference Finals and we are in pursuit of a NBA title and championship. I think he needs to use this time to focus on this game and the CAVS but eh, I guess so. This can be a major distraction and can cause him to lose focus and this is not the time for chasing Keyshia Cole around the country. He needs to be in the gym practicing because he has been off since the CAVS played Philly in regular season.

Keyshia's connections to Boobie were hinted in her recent video "Trust" featuring Monica from her third studio album "A Different Me". She wore Boobie's jersey and her love interest in the video looked similar to Boobie as well I think Keyshia is pretty but her tattoos really take away from her beauty. She has the huge tattoo on her arm, side of her neck, and wrist to forearm and its not cute. The positioning is all wrong but either way, wish them the best.

Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens Review: FAIL

I've always been a fan of Sally Hansen nail polish and products but the new nail art pens really dissapointed. I went to Walmart about one month ago and bought two nail art pens in silver and black for $6.00 each. I used them on the two nail designs below that I did myself and it looked nice the very first day. On the second day even after applying a clear top coat the color began to fade and later on that day the nail color chipped. I guess this is a decent deal for last minute designs that will last for one day but its still $6.00 wasted.

Nail art is a matter of paint and brush as any art. I advice visiting a local craft store such as Michaels or Pat Catans and invest in different size of brushes and craft paint or acryllic paint. The colors are more vibrant and the bottle will last longer than your average nail polish. Practice and work on different designs with brushes instead of wasting money on nail art pens from Sally Hansen that will have your design faded and chipped after two days.

Princess Tiana: Disney's First Black Princess but No Black Prince

I think the movie is going to be adorable but I'm giving it the *side eye*. I'm glad they changed her name from Maddy to Princess Tiana considering Maddy was a name given to Black women as being low class chamber maids. The first image of the princess was very sterotypical and inappropriate personally.

Disney seemed to clean up their act but its no secret that Disney is one of the most racist companies in the world and videos along with facts can prove that. Even in the trailer the fire fly appears to be Black and he doesn't have any teeth and talks as if he cannot complete a sentence. Another issue is that Princess Tiana couldn't have a Black prince. That was just too good to be true from Disney. What message are they exactly trying to send? The only way for a Black princess to exist and possibly have an happily ever after in the fairy tales is to have a White prince. There is nothing wrong with interracial relationships but why couldn't the prince be Black? I guess Black love is so far fetched it can't even exist in the fairy tales.

I guess we should be grateful that after a native american, asian, and indian princess we finally get a Black Disney Princess.

I'm glad he is sticking to his roots and not trying to come out with the T-Pain drinking in the club mess like Jamie Foxx. This story is from Essence.com and I am truly amazed and inspired by this 27 year old woman's story. Her name is Tamara Harbbison and the before and after pictures speak for themselves.

Tamara Harbison is a huge loser and proud of it. The 27-year-old waitress from Morrisville, North Carolina, shed a whopping 125 lbs in 9 months with the help of Dr. Ian Smith's book "The Fat Smash Diet: The Last Diet You'll Ever Need" (St. Martin's Griffin). The dedicated southern belle who has been maintaining her new weight since January followed a strict regimen of healthy eating, regular exercise and good ole fashioned hard work to get slim and trim

I know this isn't the only diet success story but to accomplish this in 9 months takes alot of hard work, dedication, and focus. Next time I go to Borders or Barnes and Noble I am going to check out this book and see what I can take from it. This might be something that I can try. Its important to stay healthy and in shape. I need to start working out more, drinking more water, and cutting out sweets. I gave up fast food for lent and I am already seeing improvements in how I feel and how to control food intake. My university has an excellent work out facility with free exercise classes from yoga, step arobics, intense training, weight lifting, and everything under the sun. Will & Jada: True Black Love

I read in a recent interview of Jada Pinkett-Smith with National Public Radio that Will and Jada do not have an open marriage. This made me really happy because what I took from the previous rumor is that the only way for a successful Black hollywood marriage is to have an open marriage. This was only a rumor.

I don’t have an open marriage and no, we’re not gay - and you don’t trust that? Well then there’s nothing that I really have to say to anybody about anything, because at the end of the day, I’m living my life, and I’m happy

The reason why this post is titled true Black love is because the state of the Black family is at an all time low. There isn't enough positive images in the media or in the Black community of Black married couples who are together and happy with children. There is a trend amongst Black men who attain a certain level of success through entertainment, sports, or educational that they marry the White, Latina, Asian, or interracial woman. You don't see many Black athletes, actors, or men with degrees who are marrying Black women. To see Will and Jada still going strong is a beautiful thing and they are doing so without an open marriage just pure love.

There is nothing wrong with interracial relationships and all love is wonderful but with Barack and Michelle now giving a sense of hope and a positive image for Black love is just great. Its so bad that many young Black girls have never been to a wedding before nor have any examples of Black married couples in their community. Even when I was in grade school people would ask me who I lived with and I would tell them both of my parents and they were shocked. They didn't understand why my parents lived together and teachers assumed my mother was a single mother because my father didn't attend many of my programs and award ceremonies because he worked and traveled alot. I only knew two other children in my entire 4th grade class who has Black parents who were married and lived together. This is why the post is titled Black love and I am such an advocate for it.

I have had issue with growing longer nails and I found that Nutra Nail Growth Treatment plus Green Tea and N.Y.C. ( New York Color) Nail Hardener 207A are fabulous treatments for soft and brittle nails that break easily and lack growth capability. I bought both of these items at Walmart and the NYC nail hardener was only $0.99 and Nutra Nail was $4.99. Directions state to apply the nutra nail to bare nails or colored nails up to two times daily and I have been doing it for 2 days and my nails feel great. They are stronger and I can't bend them. They look healthier and instead of paying $20 for the entire nail system for treatment I spent $6 and my nails are on their way. I'm sure you can find these products at Walmart or your local drugstore or even grocery store in some cases.

I think its going to be sooner than I think. I want to be engaged for awhile before marriage, I think that is important for all couples. Lisa Raye is basically f*cked. If you didn't know Lisa Raye was married to Premier Misick who owned Turks and Caicos which is a resort and island. Now she is in court in a government corruption trial against her husband. Lisa Raye should have been smarter when deciding to date a man of his caliber. She claims in quote that she had no problem signing the pre-nup because she doesn't even know what he is worth? With technology advancing by the second and google.com she should have "googled" him to find out who he was, what he owned, performed a background check, and how much he was worth. Especially if he asked her to sign a prenuptial agreement and it was HIS IDEA! Not only did she sign without fully reading the contract, she did not have her lawyer present before signing a legally binding contract.

Now that the shit has hit the fan she is liable for the expenses on the American Express Black card that he gave her for shopping which totalled at time $200,000. She is responsible for paying for the private jet trips from L.A. to Turks and Caicos which are estimated to be $100,000 per trip. Her husband insisted that she become the face of the franchise and her picture was on several billboards and advertisements across the island and now that she is filing for divorce she has to pay $300 grand per appearance on the island and $150 for her promotional appearances she made across the United States. Here is the mess that got me! Some how he leased the Phantom Rolls Royce which was a gift from him for her birthday or Valentine's Day in HER COMPANY'S NAME! so now she is stuck with the liability which is $6,900 per month. The bad part is that she did not sign for anything so how in the hell did the car he bought for her as a gift end up in her name, through her company, and now she is left with the bill.

Ladies, you have to smarten up. If you decide to date a man who is wealthy or even if you don't know his background from the beggining you have to do your research. This does not make you a gold digger but a smart woman. Know what you are getting into. Lisa should have known from the moment he said he was returning from his autourny's office and that he wanted her to sign a pre-nup that is was time to hit the books and do some research on her man. Call your lawyer and set some time aside to go over the pre-nup and understrand fully what is going to happen if you were to divorce and what is expected while married. She could have been signing off to anything. Yes, you want to trust your man but you have to be smart. Lisa got caught up in living the glamourous life and didn't think about the day her diamonds would turn to dust and that day has come and now she is assed out. On top of him cheating on her while they were married and impregnanting another woman in Florida. The drama just piled up and now she is stuck in the middle of a nasty divorce and she has to pay up. All because she did not read the document she placed her signature on.

As much as you may love and trust someone you have to play smart. Don't sign anything in your name for that person to use and rack up debt unless you are MARRIED! If you do decide to sign a phone, apartment, or anything in your name for him to use you need to write out or type a contract and sign it along with putting the date. Just in case something goes sour you will be protected. I know too many cases where women have trusted men and thought it was love and they were taken advantage of. Some women were aware of the happenings and some weren't. One woman actually took out loans for her boyfriend in her name, credit cards, car loan, and phone to help him out and being by his side. In the end he ran up her credit to the point where she can't even apply for a loan herself because they broke up and it didn't work and now she is left with the baggage. Promoting a "House" When They are NOT MARRIED is NOT CUTE! What Message is Essense Trying to Send?

I was making my rounds on Essense Magazine Online and I saw that Carmelo Anthony and Lala were featured and showing off their new "home". Looking at the pictures I said "aww, how cute and their son is adorable". Then it got me to thinking, what kind of message are they trying to send. As if they are praising an unmarried couple for having a child out of wedlock. Now this situation is commonplace in many families but this does not make it right and worthy of praise. Lala is apart of a situation that many people refer to as playing wifey to a man who is not ready to play husband let alone marry her. Many ball players are in the same situation of having children with women and not willing to marry them. Marriage is not for everyone and just because you have children together does not mean you have to get married but the best situation for a child to grow up in would be the nuclear family where the mother and father are married and all of the children have the same mother and father. Many families have proven that other situations can be successful but this once again does not make it right. I feel sorry for the children forced in these situations.

LeBron James and his "baby mama" Savannah are in the same situation. Here it is they had two children together and no ring is on her finger. Lala has a ring on her finger but no moves towards getting married has been made. This is nothing to praise. This situation screams in my opinion to young women that it is alright and acceptable to have children with men who have no intentions on marrying you. I guess just because they are famous that this is alright. Mariah and Nick waited until they were married to have sex and children, Beyonce and Jay-Z are married now so children are expected, Christina Aguilera, even Jennifer Lopez all followed the same route. This seems to be a trend with Black atheletes. Essense is praising them for making a home for their child and they are not married. Lala is living off Carmelo and everything is in his name, she has nothing to herself and not aspiring to have anything of her own. How much money was she making exactly being a television personality for MTv shows and a few small movie apperances playing her own role in real life.

Is a "baby mama" something for young black women to aspire and worthy of the praise. Some people are in the situation and labeled "baby mama" because shit happens but this does not make it right. Its bad enough the Black family is deteriorating and one of the fabulous things about Obama and Michelle is the message they are sending. It is still possible to find someone to love, support, and respect you enough to commit and get married, have children while married, and create a strong family for children. Now Lala is basically set for life because is she hits Carmelo up for child support she is going to get a pretty penny and won't have to worry about anything. This situation disgusts me and it is not cute whatsoever. This is nothing to aspire or want to praise. Before this issue they had Will Smith and Jada with their family which is completely acceptable because they are married. They waited until they got married to have children and they are worthy of praise. We don't need anymore negative images of the Black Family in the media and showing a Black woman and man having children without being married and a black woman solely dependent on Carmelo is a shame. Personally I am dependent on my father, I'm 20 years old, full-time college student studying Computer Management Information Systems and when I graduate, hopefully I will have a job lined up for me from studying hard, networking, and completing internships until I graduate. I believe that every woman should have goals set for herself and never settle for being anyone's "jumpoff" or "baby mama" or staying at home doing nothing. If you have a child at a young age or decide to have children with a man who is famous or successful always have a backup plan. Right now, if Carmelo were to throw Lala out on the street what will she have? Better yet these no name jumpoffs who date ball players, what will they have? If she would use what she is given and make a business for herself in real estate similar to what Lisa did on The Real Housewives of Atlanta she would have something to call her own. I on the otherhand have my education and I have a career path.

If I had a child I would not want anyone to think that its ok and the right thing to do. I rather show a married couple who had children and provided a home of security for their children. How secure is this so called home Carmelo and Lala created for their son? A woman should be able to provide for herself and children without relying on child support from her baby daddy. Make something of yourself and do better. Essence, we don't need to see this image of the Black family glorified and celebrated. It seems as if they are giving Lala and Carmelo a pass because they are famous and I don't agree.

Cheating

There is a different between cheating and infidelity. Infidelity is being unfailthful when you are married. That is a totally different conversation. But I honestly want to know what is your views on cheating. Is there ever a justification for it? If the person you love and have devoted your life, effort, and love to cheated on you can you take them back? Will you ever get over it?

Some people say once a cheater always a cheater. I feel that if you are in love with someone and if you feel it is true love then they wouldn't cheat on you unless something is missing and they need to fill a void in their life that is clearly missing. I would want to know what they needed, what were they looking for, why did you feel the need to stray. Then you have those men/women who will cheat no matter what they have at home to go to just because they can't commit. They have issues being with one person. My thing is, why get in a relationship. If you don't want to be with just one person then avoid relationships and remain friends to avoid hurting that person.

Some men want the best of both worlds. They want to have a woman at home to cook, clean, and have sex with them but when they leave the house they want to have the ability to be with whoever they want. Relationships don't work that way. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you can't commit yourself to one person then stay single, that would avoid alot of drama.

What is worse is knowing the other person is cheating and you don't want to do anything about it. You rather be in a relationship with someone disrespecting you and cheating than to be alone. Personally if Mike ever cheated on me, I would have to know his reasoning and why he did it. I wouldn't be quick to leave him, I will try my best to get past it and get over it but is my resentment takes over then I will have to leave. But honestly if he made one mistake, its worth trying to get over than letting him go. Does that make me a fool like some people may label it if a woman takes a man back after he cheats. Or a man who loves his girlfriend to death no matter what she does he will take her back?

I love to take pictures of random things. Be it a sunset, clouds, a lake, people walking on campus, the leaves laying on the ground, or just something that is interesting and beautiful. But this does not make me a photographer. I have not taken any classes nor gone to school for photography therefore just because I have a digital camera and a serial key for Image Ready and Photoshop does not make me a photographer.

I love to play in makeup. I like trying different color eyeshadows, eyeliner, mascara, I love ordering various things on sephora.com, and visiting the store and looking at what is new. I love watching videos on Youtube of people "playing" in makeup and learning different techniques. I love reading PRECIOUSmakeup and QueenofBlending's blogs and what they recommend and post because they are CERTIFIED make-up artists, they have had the training, might have went to M.A.C. Bootcamp, they get PAID to put makeup on other people. I like to play in makeup and just because I go to Sephora, I own some items from M.A.C. does not make me an Makeup Artists.

I love to get dolled up. Especially after I get a new weave, I put on some makeup, a new outfit and I have Mike or one of my girls take pictures of me. I put them on facebook and myspace and might even edit a few in photoshop so they look professional. Just because I get dolled up and someone takes pictures of me with their Nikon camera does not make me a model. Just because I post pictures on myspace does not make me a model.

I love to design graphics and maintain a personal and professional website. I do this for fun. I have taken classes on web design and html/javascript, and graphic designing. I am Microsoft Office Certified and IC3: Internet and Computer Core Certified. I enjoy designing graphics and websites, I am a graphic designer.

What bothers me is when people have hobbies and they try to place professional titles behind their names just because. Anyone can take pictures, not everyone can go to photography school. Anyone can buy makeup, not everyone can take a person off the street and know off jump their undertone, their skintype, whether to use liquid or solid makeup, what color eyeshadow brings out the color in their eyes, what makeup will make them look like a clown and what won't. Not everyone is paid to do makeup for clients. Anyone can get their hair done and pose in a two-piece for some guy in the basement of his house for his "myspace modeling agency" and then they want to label themselves a model. Anyone can look cute with their ASS out, try selling a product, try booking an agency who can get jobs for you actually MODELING for a PRODUCT for a COMPANY and getting paid to SELL something other than your ASS. Just because you are on myspace and you can go to someone else's site, copy and paste a layout, change the colors, and put your own pictures in the background does not make you a web and graphic designer. Try coding your own layout, try making your own graphics, try designing something with photoshop, try vectoring a picture, try tweeking a wordpress theme to make it your own, make a blend, and then get back to me. Don't sit up here and say you are a graphic designer just because you copy and paste some layout from someone else's site, someone else's creativity, change the colors, and put a picture of lil wayne instead of justin timberlake on the background, don't label yourself a graphic and web designer, BITCH PLEASE.

I respect those who go to school, study, and become certified in those fields. I don't want to take that from anyone and no one else should.

Who are you fooling. Clearly if you are one shade in person, making the flash on your camera shine on your face to make you look lighter in your pictures does not change your complexion in real life. Just because you photoshop the hell out of your pictures does not change the fact you have a patch of acne on the side of your face. Just because you find some picture of SOMEONE else's body with the face missing and you put it on your photo album claiming it is your own does not change the fact you are twice that size in real life. Or you find a picture of someone else's ass, boobies, legs, body without the face makes it very suspicious. STOP LYING TO YOURSELF. SEEK HELP because trust me it is not normal. Don't try to be anything you are not. How can you be happy with yourself. I have no problem coming clean about anything. Guess what, I'm a size 12, I'm not fat, I'm not skinny, I'm more than average, I'm happy with my size, I have a pimple on my chin, I have love handles, my stomach is not flat, my relationship is not perfect, I am in love completely but we fight, we argue, we have our differences, my GPA is not the best but hell of alot better than most, I wear a weave, my real hair is sholder length but thin......it can go on and on. The point is, I don't have to lie about anything to make me feel better. I just wish more people can do the same, I'm sure people will accept the real you. My favortie female singer of all time is Mariah Carey. Her voice is amazing and I have been a fan since I was young during the Vision of Love era. Throughout Mariah's career she has endured intense criticism and doubt but she made it through the rain. After failed marriages, losing faith, her father, career ups and downs, she remained the same and God was her saving grace. Its amazing how someone can enter your life when you least expect it and subconsciously need it the most. Especially when you thought the feelings were lost and now the opportunity for passion to be rekindled, past to be forgotten and let go, time is of the essence. Time will heal shattered hearts and lack of trust. I'm In Love as of 9/02/07 and I thank God everyday for blessing me with such a wonderful man in my life. Hopefully this will be Golden! Already we have been faced with obstacles and overcame with ease and I'm grateful for that and it let me know this isn't just another love, its just be the one I've waited for. When I am around him it is as if time just stands still and nothing else matters anymore. Hopefully this will complete my cycle of love in finding forever. Short Bio Miss April Joy. Statistics, life experiences, and realization have led me to conclude I am intelligent, beautiful, addictive personality, sweet, down to earth, Musically-Spiritually Inclined, and Fabulous in every aspect of life. I am a full-time college student studying Management Information Systems. I have been blessed and I am so thankful for the life I have. I am currently a student at Ohio University and my major is Management Information Systems. While in high school I started taking college courses in the 10th grade allowing me to graduate with my Associate's Degree of Liberal Arts along with my high school diploma. I am very serious when it comes to my education because in the end if everything is taken away such as my jewelry, car, or fabulous clothes, those things are concrete and material but my education is something that I will always have. I plan to get several certifications in Informational Technology and Microsoft Office. Upon graduating with my Bachelor's ~~if I am blessed with a job that pays well I plan on attending graduate school later on in life, who knows where I will end up~~ This bio was written in 2008 and clearly the economy is drastically different! Graduate school is not an option I will definitely attend after graduation in late 2011 or so :P college is not a race it's a marathon

One thing that I love about myself and value is the way I carry myself and my class, hence the name Classy Honey. They don't make em like me anymore and if so there are very few. I was surrounded by peers and friends who were having sex and being promiscuous and I had to realize that this cannot be ideal for myself. A lot of people looked at me as different and I lost friends because of my decision to not have sex and let's face it, its not "In". My parents always told me to value myself with integrity, respect, and class. I am a lady of value and unfortunately there are several misled and confused women out there who were never shown or cannot see their own worth. I look at it like this, I am like a $500 bill (Not Literally). No matter what happens to me, I may be crumpled, ripped, and stomped on but at the end of the day I still have the value of $500 and I'm not going to just let myself go for anything because I am still worth everything. I have not had numerous sexual partners because Sex is more than sex to me. It's a special intimate connection between two people and it is sacred, not meant to be taken lightly and loosely as many do. I don't agree with one night stands or having multiple sex partners be it male or female. What I have is too good and not everyone is deserving. With all of this being said, I will never degrade myself through pictures, videos, stripping or just being loose. I carry myself with high class and sophistication and I will hold my head high through any situation. I feel my body, soul, and mind is something worth waiting for and not for just anyone to have. Too few young ladies do not value themselves or are taught to carry themselves a certain way unfortunately. I wish I can take every girl in the world and show her how special she truly is. It may sound cheesy but w/e
